Peabody is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States

Peabody is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. Peabody is located in the North Shore region of Massachusetts, also known as the Northfields, “the Farms”, and Brooksby, the area was settled about 1626 within Salem, which had itself been founded in 1626 and incorporated in 1629. In 1752, the area was set off from Salem and incorporated as part of Danvers. It was usually referred to as “the South Parish”, associated with the church located in the center (now Peabody Square).

In 1855, the community broke away from Danvers to become the town of South Danvers, incorporated that May 18. The name was changed on April 30, 1868, to Peabody after George Peabody, a noted philanthropist. It would be incorporated as a city in 1916. Meanwhile, West Peabody, which was mostly farmland as recently as the 1950s, has been developed into a middle-to-upper class residential area. Brooksby Farm, a historic farm managed by the City of Peabody, is a 275-acre (1.11 km2) working farm and conservation area that has been one of the city’s most popular destinations for decades.

FOREVER FLAWLESS Store-North Shore Mall

The Forever Flawless Store is located in Northshore Mall an upscale shopping mall in New England and is located on Route 114 near Route 128 in Peabody, Massachusetts. It is currently anchored by Macy’s (split into two locations), Sears, J. C. Penney, and Nordstrom. A recently completed redevelopment reconfigured the center, which is approximately 1.685 million ft². Most of the mall is located on one level, although the Nordstrom wing was built on two levels; and all the anchor stores are at least two stories – Sears is three stories, and prior to its demolition to make way for Nordstrom, the former Macy’s/Jordan Marsh was four stories. Additionally, there are varied stores with basement locations scattered throughout the mall, such as DSW.

The shopping center has been home to the St. Therese Society of Mt. Carmel Chapel since 1960. It is the first chapel ever built within a shopping center, paving the way for another Carmelitechapel to open at Bergen Mall in New Jersey as well as other mall chapels throughout the country at places such as Plymouth Meeting Mall. There is an elevator adjacent to the main entrance next to Joe’s Bar & Grill which leads to the chapel, the chapel gift shop, and a dental office. The mall also houses the Peabody Police Department Community Outreach Center. The shopping center went through several changes in the 1970s and 1980s, including the expansion of Sears to a full-line anchor. Eventually, starting with a small section near the Sears store, the entire center was enclosed to better compete with nearby Liberty Tree Mall constructed by New England Development in 1972.

Except for the renaming of Jordan Marsh in 1996 to Macy’s, the mall’s structure and anchors remained essentially intact from 1994 until 2005, when May Department Stores (the then parent of Lord & Taylor and Filene’s) was acquired by Federated Department Stores (the owner of Macy’s). In March 2006, Federated briefly closed the Filene’s store, before using the space to relocate its Macy’s store that May (the remainder of the Filene’s stores were renamed Macy’s later that year). In June 2006 Federated converted the Lord & Taylor branch into a Macy’s after Simonannounced an agreement with Nordstrom to open a store in 2009 at Northshore Mall. Plans called for the gutting and demolition of the original 1958 former Jordan Marsh store for a new wing of mall retail space, the construction of a new Nordstrom at the end of the new wing and for Macy’s to increase buying space for the Men’s and Home departments. Federated Department Stores converted the Lord & Taylor location before selling the brand to Saks Fifth Avenue.

The new wing opened on November 4, 2009. Unlike the rest of the mall, it has stores on two floors, both of which connect to and have access to Nordstrom. The food court entrance was also renovated and expanded, with the additions of The Cheesecake Factory, which opened in October 2007, andP.F. Chang’s China Bistro, which opened in early 2009. Scosso Ristorante & Martini Bar opened in November 2012.
